Dawnwalker beginner guide: choose your next useful action

Start here
Choose one nearby objective, inspect its time and form requirements, then prepare for that task. The story clock does not require you to race across the map, and learning a useful ability can be a better investment than saving every hourglass.
Choose a result
Pick one current objective.
Read the commitment
Check form and time before accepting.
Prepare your tools
Practice the action you expect to use.
Follow the opening route
Take one task at a time.

01Pick a result you can recognize
Begin with a concrete result: make the medicine, investigate a lead or meet an ally. Write down the current quest name or select it in the journal. Our recommendation is to finish that immediate investigation before opening several unrelated commitments; this makes it easier to understand why a new objective appeared.
The developer describes multiple approaches after the prologue. That freedom does not make every quest available in every state, so follow the instructions for the actual objective you have.
02Read the commitment before accepting it
The official features overview distinguishes ordinary exploration from starting or advancing certain quests. Check the displayed cost before accepting an expedition, training session or time skip. You can investigate the surroundings first, then decide whether that commitment serves your current goal.
- Check whether the objective is marked for day or night.
- Check your current health, available abilities and equipped gear.
- If a dialogue offers an immediate journey, compare its commitment with reaching the meeting yourself.
03Practice the tools you already have
PC Gamer's playthrough advice warns against hoarding time so aggressively that Coen remains underdeveloped. Practice defense, inspect an available skill and choose an upgrade that solves a problem you have actually encountered. You do not need to copy a supposed perfect build before learning which actions you use.
Read personal dialogue as well as the obvious quest choice. The same guide reports that seemingly optional white responses can lead to otherwise hidden yellow choices.
04Then take the prologue one task at a time
Use the prologue walkthrough for the village sequence, and open Anca's recipe when you reach the medicine task. After the prologue, the early-progression guide helps turn your new leads into a route. Keep the combat and day/night guides nearby for a mechanical obstacle instead of restarting because a conversation went differently.
