Vampire powers: movement, wolf form and unlocks

Start here

Build a night route around the abilities you have learned: Shadowstep crosses short gaps and changes your approach; Shapeshift speeds up travel outside combat. Check the phase and the required skill before following a route that assumes them.

01Check access and costs

Feeding increases corruption, opening stronger Vampirism options. Learning and upgrading requires skill points and time. Vampire powers can cost health: read the selected ability's requirements before using it. Swordmastery remains usable during both day and night.

02Use Shadowstep to change the approach

Look beyond a guarded doorway: balconies, roof edges and scaffolding may offer another entry. The developer describes Shadowstep as short-range repositioning for exploration, stealth or flanking. Choose the destination with the next part of your route in mind; reaching a roof is useful only if you can continue from it.

03Aim before crossing a gap or wall

  1. Hold the Shadowstep control, aim at the landing point, then release. The mine tutorial introduces this at a gap too wide to jump.
  2. For its marked wall route, target high on the wall, walk upward and use the corner prompt at the top. Watch stamina while climbing.

04Unlock and use wolf form

If transformation fails, check that it is night and you are outside combat. Wolf form cannot fight. The separate daytime speed skill is Mercurial Fervour in Witchcraft.

  1. At a shrine, open Perks and select the Vampirism tree. Find Shapeshift at the bottom right and inspect its purchase requirements.
  2. After buying it, run at night and press the left stick on a controller to transform. On another control setup, check your current binding.
  3. Use the wolf for faster travel outside combat. PowerPyx reports reduced fall damage, but this does not mean falls are harmless.

05Choose the ability for the obstacle

  • For a distant outdoor destination, check the wolf skill first.
  • For an elevated entrance, inspect Shadowstep landing points and a route onward.
  • For a power you cannot activate, compare its learned state, phase and displayed cost before assuming the objective is blocked.
