Font of Life: trials and all three choices

Choose who uses the Font, Coen or Anca, or destroy it. Save before committing, then open the reward comparison below for the benefits and story consequences of each option.

Pass the test and the enemy beyond.
Open Anca’s path
Cross the gap, open her door, then push together.
Inscribed pillar
Use Astral Communion and defeat the waves.
Inspect and save
Check the painting and bowl before choosing.

01Pass the idol

Clear the rooms after Where Old Devils Lie. Inspect the idol beside Anca; put Coen's hand inside and keep still, or let Anca do it.
Beyond the opened door, defeat the miniboss and crouch through the doorway behind it.

02Make Anca's path

Go right, jump to the central platform, cross left and sidle along the wall. Continue through the narrow gap.
Turn right to open Anca's corridor door, then jointly push the opposite stone door.

03Finish the trial

Use Astral Communion on the central inscribed pillar. Defeat the waves from the side statues.
Inspect the Font chamber's side painting and central bowl with Focus Mode. Save before choosing.

04Compare the three outcomes

Reveal choices and consequences

PC Gamer reports that all three choices permit Anca's romance. The reward choice and her eventual story outcome are separate from accepting the later romance scene.

Coen uses the Font

Coen uses it: gain the Font of Life passive, regenerating human health during the day. Anca accepts the decision and seeks another solution to her curse.

Anca uses the Font

Anca uses it: her curse is cleansed and the red markings on her arm disappear. Coen receives no Font passive or greaves; later relationship dialogue changes.

Destroy the Font

Destroy it: overturn the Font and collect Ancient Greaves from beneath the altar. Neither character receives its blood.

05Hand in the quest

Speak to Anca to leave, then finish the conversation at the inn. The optional romance scene is not required to complete the quest.
